Removing PDF Permissions
Cases in which this could be relevant:
Students receive encrypted transcript files from Parchment and can’t send the document.
General PDF file encryption.
Solution:
Very simple, though saving file as PDF from a 3rd party tool such as Adobe doesn’t seem to remove file permissions and/or encryption, you can do this from the browser to remove them.
Open the PDF in your browser of choice
Locate the print button(shown below for chrome browser) or press CTRL + P(windows), Command + P(mac)
Select printer source to ‘Save as PDF’
Save
The saved file should now have permissions/encryption removed.
